Issues confronting Māori, and uptake of COVID-19 vaccinations, can be tied to historical events, just as much as to the present day. This hui explores what factors facing whānau have inhibited vaccination participation, as well as the strategies that are working to engage whānau, iwi and hapu.

Whāriki explores these issues with people with lived experience, Māori healthcare professionals, marae-based vaccination centre kaimahi, and Ministry of Health staff leading the Māori COVID-19 vaccination strategy to highlight:

- What is working and where to protect Māori whakapapa

- How to make the connections to transfer this knowledge more widely
